7️⃣ Key Lessons I’ve Learnt In This Game of Ours_ Writing

This morning I sat to think about how much I’ve learned in this game of ours, a few points sprang to mind.

Below are the seven biggest lessons I’ve learned as a writer over the years.

I hope they be of value to some young writers just starting out in this game.

1️⃣ Writing is a journey_ every piece you write takes you a step forward.

As much as possible write every day. Hit the publish button. Allow others to see what you’re doing.

There’s no other way a writer gets better.

2️⃣ You’ll Suck Sometimes_ but that’s not the whole truth; other times you will produce amazing content.

Every shitty content teaches you how to do the next much better.

3️⃣ You’ll have critics_ individuals who never seem to commend your effort.

Sometimes they will be a thorn in your flesh.

The good news is, they are not many. At least for every 1 person that doesn’t like what you write, there are 20 other persons who do.

4️⃣ Somedays, its the hardest thing there’s to put a pen to paper_ every writer feels that too. You’re not alone.

At those times, if you have to write, start slowly until the spirit takes over.

5️⃣ If You Could Just Persevere, Youll Get to the top ⤴️ _ don’t think more than one article at a time.

That’s all you need to make progress without being overwhelmed.

It’s a long journey so take it one article at a time.

6️⃣ You will have passionate fans and friends_ people who love you irrespective.

Value them.

Let them know how much they mean to you.

Though they are few, they mean the world to you.

Let them know that also.

7️⃣ Success won’t come as fast as you wish _ don’t let your expectations betray you.

The path of success isn’t straight.

It may be longer for me than it’s for you.

All you need is to do your best and be cool.

In common unexpected hours, you will have the success you deserve come of its own accord.

You can’t force the process, you can only do your duty.

And if you do it well, I solemnly promise you, the success you seek will come.

Thanks so much for your time.

I hope you found some values in the post.

Let me know which lessons you learn in your journey as a writer.

It could be just what someone somewhere needs to push past a phase of resistance.

( Who knows?)

Have a great day today.

Much love ❤️

  1. good advice and inspiration. and as far as not thinking more than one post ahead, sometimes I wish I had a few posts ready to go in case of a rainy day. but many days it’s a struggle to just come up with one.

    1. As for thinking one content at a time, what I actually mean is focusing on one article until it’s completed.

It’s a plus and a good idea to have some draft ready especially for the rainy ☔days as you’ve said.

      I agree with that.

And I do encourage it as well.

One way to do that is to save ideas and inspiration in the form of headlines and a few points as outlines.

Save them in your folder 📂and go on with your day.

At leisure, those drafts can be further developed until they are ready bullets to be shot later into WordPress.

That’s how I do sometimes though.

      I hope it helps?

      Thanks once again, Jim.

      #Much love from here 🍎💯
