Here’s How Easy-To -Read Articles Come About.

People become successful when they learn how to balance doing what they love with doing what they have to do.
Whether they feel like it or not.”

Good

writing is valuable and enjoyable. And value is a function of cost.

When you found it useful and simple, then it means a lot of work has gone into it.

Over the last few weeks I have endeavored to follow through on an advice from a blogger I so much respect, Tom Kuegler.

In one of the emails I received from him, he wrote:

“You have to write quality stuff now.”

As brief as that may seem it’s got a lot to it. It means you have to write well refined and credible articles.

And that is at a cost.

The Cost Of A Valuable Article.

It takes some serious effort to create great stuff. That article that is so easy for them to read, is actually really difficult for you to create.”

_ Neil Patel

It pays to write something worth the reader’s time and money.

But good writing, just like a well written book, doesn’t come easy.

But we’ve no choice than to do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do.

There are two solid cost to those kind of articles. If you want to write one, here they are:

1. Research

Great writing comes from solid research.

This is where credibility comes from.

A post with credibility is one with information that you can use as a basis of action or a decision.

And such credibility comes from a careful study of research findings on the subject matter.

Here is one of such sources you can trust for research findings.

2. You Have To “Kill Your Darlings“.

“Kill your darlings, kill your darlings, even when it breaks your egocentric little scribbler’s heart, kill your darlings.”

_ Steven King

Most of the times, some of your best stories will need to be used as manures for a single post.

And, that takes a lot of work. It’s close to being a sacrifice. Where the “blood” of four to five stories serves as a peace offering for one post.

That isn’t easy. Buh it’s worth it all.

Sam Smith, a singer and song writer, once said in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres:

I write all the time. And I have a theory that for every one song, there’s about 10 songs that go into it. It’s like a journey that go into that one song.”

Easy-to-read articles are not without cost. But it’s worth it all.

To all the bloggers out there, I want to appreciate you for taking so much time and effort doing good to the world.

  1. Hello, thank you for the follow.
I like this post. I think the cost for me has been a lifelong career doing what I love, so that wouldn’t be a cost but a benefit — been an artist, graphic designer, and writer for most of my career. The advantage I get from sharing my art, photos, and thoughts helps me grow and remain inspired. I agree with you about the research that is key to being a good writer. Have a great day!

    1. That’s true.
It’s actually not that much a cost as it’s a benefit.

      I agree.

Buh sometimes, it’s more of one than the other.
Sometimes, writing can be pure joy and fun. But at other times, it can be really difficult.
Really nice to hear your side of the story.😍😍

      Thanks so much Michelle Marie.

      For the read and comment.

      1. You got that part right sometimes writing can be difficult. Waiting for that inspiration sometimes is hard. I usually do something else and then something magnificent comes! 🙂 Have a great weekend. 🙂

  2. Very useful post! I don’t know if I can talk about the biggest cost because all costs are big and somehow I am rarely satisfied with the result. What I love about all intellectual works, specially writing, are their endless nature. Because thinking is always in a maturing process

  3. Yes, I agree. An easy-to-read writing is difficult to create. It’s almost the same sound/context with a smart person isn’t someone who can explain difficult things using a lot of scientific words, but someone who can explain difficult things in a simple and understandable way. Our readers are from different background, so, it’s important to make a simple and understandable writing. Thanks for sharing your thought.
    Warm regards.
