Only the Uninitiated are Perpetually Busy.

Busyness is not a badge of honor it’s a sign of weakness.

~Anthony Moore

Those who are highly productive are not busy; they are rather focused .

“Only plan for 4 – 5 hours of real work per day.”

The first time I read that quote by David Heinemeier Hansson, I felt something wasn’t right ; I couldn’t believe it that 4 – 5 hours was enough to do real work per day .

It’s way too small in my own estimation !

Now I realize that only shallow people think that way( the way I thought); and that is one of the strongest hold to leading an unproductive life.

To be a highly productive and yet have time for other aspects of your life you have to be focused with constraint.

It’s not enough to just be focused ; you have to be focused and work with constraints .

And what are constraints ?

Deadlines!

A wise man advised, “Set deadlines for everything. Don’t let tasks go on indefinitely.”

Life is not all work the same way it’s not all play . So you have need of balance . And the only way to do that is to use constraints both in when you work and when you play .

On the basis of productivity, the man who has a time constraint of 4-5 hours of work per day will beat the one who allows work to go on indefinitely.

Etienne Garbugli , a product design and marketing consultant, said it best when he said :

“We are always more focused and productive with limited time.”

That’s the conclusion of the whole matter . And it’s a secret known to only the enlightened and now you are one of them.

Congratulations !!!

To Your Success,
